Dr. Georgeanne Warnock

The Subbing Superintendent

Named as one of 19 National Superintendents to

Watch by NSPRA in 2021, Dr. Warnock works to

engage  others through authentic communication on

social media channels as “The Subbing Superintendent”

with over 50,000 followers across platforms.  Recently

named Ambassador of the Year by Friends of Texas

Public Schools, Dr. Warnock has been a featured

speaker at regional, state-wide, and national

conferences. With authentic and candid story-telling,

Georgeanne will make you laugh, cry, think, and be

called to action.

Passionate about high quality education for all students, Dr. Georgeanne Warnock has served as Superintendent of Terrell ISD since January 2020. With over twenty-six years of experience in public education, she currently is focused on leading work in transforming culture and building community engagement to impact learning.

Georgeanne grew up in the shadows of Johnson Space Center in Friendswood, Texas.  A proud graduate of Friendswood High School, Georgeanne debated

between becoming a teacher or an astronaut (and there's a story there...)...she ultimately decided to pursue her dream of helping to inspire students to reach their potential and became a teacher after graduating from Trinity

University in San Antonio, Texas.

Georgeanne LOVED teaching, and she knew one thing...she NEVER wanted to be a school administrator.  But, a door opened to serve as an Assistant Principal, and she decided to give it a try.  And...she fell in love with leadership in schools.  Going on to serve as a high school

principal, Associate Superintendent, and then

Superintendent of schools, Georgeanne earned her

doctorate from the University of North Texas in 2017.

Personally, Georgeanne is an avid reader, a self-proclaimed

official NYT Word Nerd, and license-plate-counting lover

of road trips! She and her husband, Matt, are the

proud parents of four sons (and the reasons why she

got on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, etc in the first place).
